Lisa Schwartz and Kurt Swanson met in 1981 while studying at Massachusetts College of Art, and have designed and created glass together ever since. In 1983 they founded Pinkwater Glass Studio in Carmel, New York. That date marked the release of their first line of work, and Lisa and Kurt's distinctive designs and innovative use of color have made them leaders in high quality studio glass design and production ever since.

Over the past seventeen years Pinkwater Glass has garnered numerous awards from the art world and accolades from the popular press, with Pinkwater's art glass regularly exhibited at galleries and shows in the United States and Europe. Their glass is prominently displayed in more than a dozen permanent collections, including the American Craft Museum, the Renwick Museum, and the White House. Most recently, Lisa and Kurt won the competition to design and produce the centerpieces that were used for the 2000 Pilchuck Auction held in Seattle.

Innovation has always been at the root of Pinkwater's success, and today Lisa and Kurt are designing sculpture, lighting, furniture and other, startlingly beautiful glass installations for private and corporate collectors. For Lisa and Kurt, seventeen years of experience has blazed a path of success that extends before them into the future.
